Blue Birds Beginning

Awhile ago I entered the Green Giveaway here and was humbled when "ELK" was chosen as a winner. The prize of a charming frame arrived wrapped in such a colorful box

all of the blues and greens that speak to me, along with a perky blue jay on the card inside.

It became delightfully apparent that this day was going to continue to be special beyond the framed photo wrapped in a wonderful box. As I opened the blinds in the family room later that afternoon he was lounging on the oak tree branch AND I actually was holding my camera, wonder of wonders I caught this!

Now, nearly a month later I am creating hand made birds for a fun project which will be the "Red or Gray Give Day" on Tuesday. Be happy wherever you may be perched!

MID WEEK PEEK

went on a little road trip with my friends Becky and Kent on Sunday.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month...I am more aware than I ever have been. JULIE shares with me her sweet smile, a deep faith, love of family, music (we play guitar and sing each Sunday) laughter, good food, artistic talent, kids, dominoes just to name a few. This spring this sweet young woman was diagnosed with breast cancer
During these 31 days I will display a different ribbon in the sidebar fashioned out of tissue paper and photographed each day around my home to honor JULIE, one of my dearest friends

As she and her family bravely continue the journey though treatments including chemotherapy and radiation this is my small way of honoring her spirit and amazing strength ~
blessings to all who struggle down this path

I "puffy" heart you

brick heart

my close friend Becky gave this heart to me many years ago although I cannot even recall the occasion anymore. I notice it "floats" around my house as many items tend to do, never quite landing in one spot. A counter... windowsill... the wall... even in a car for awhile. Each time I spy it though it makes me smile and reflect on the love between friends, all this emotion in one soft and colorful heart.

My hope that today on this Love Thursday you have a friend floating around in sight to make you smile.

Thanks TUFY

"A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the
contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together,
knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it,
keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away."
