skyward gifts

DSCN9106 (2)blue skysky.jpgDSCN7195_7087 1.psd

days rush by . yet sky is my stop sign

light angled through ... left amazed and breathless

tangled among the wires across the heavy clouds and peeking sun

following puffs in bright blue .. from below the glory of the late turning maple

moments captured in a span of a week . a gift skyward given

the welcome mat is always out here . thankful for your friendship and support

Sweet Expectations

green pineapples were not on the list at all
a turkey and one bag of potatoes graced the top spot
along with the round jewels of cranberry .. beautiful contrast they are
yet a photo op called to me from the depths of a ninety nine cent special bin

there is something hopeful about sweet fruit in November chosen when green with faith
for the love of unique texture . sunshine with juice will slowly ripen upon a counter
until mid week when daughters faraway return home
catching up over a deep bowl of joy

in the waning shadow of a weekend . amid the rustle and emptying of bags
this fruit reminds me of ripe days to come . for that I am ever thankful

faint afternoon shadows appear in the quiet of autumn

a dried twig finds its way into the shot once again

perseverance defined in cloth pebble . twine

steadfast . continue with purpose

well suited for this day

for times when edges feel frayed

moments are moody

a morning gift

... humming this today

. . .

'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,

'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd,
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning we come 'round right."

imperfect stone combined with perfect prose ... simple

at times riding in circles . often with arms clasped ... felt in the softness of snow

I embrace copper tones of life that is now

art and sun through the branches

bridges reaching the sky

in the weary grip of blogger burn out I embrace creative moments at an old wooden table

finding gratitude in vintage brown cloth with flowers in shades of autumn hope

snips of left over twine ... fashioned into yet another quirky wing

there lies a reminder to stay devoted

inspired always by the creative energies of

poetic friends . a home within us

far away pine forest of shared beauty

I will use these four weeks to create simple birds

from raveling vintage cloth . long tucked away in a cardboard box

thankful for November and its reminder that devotion is an act of the heart
