begin . bloom . fresh . subtle . bright . begin . simple . new . soft . cool . burst
smooth strength
.
.
wrought iron bent in curves with swirls . against the backdrop of greening earth and branches
small black stones curve smooth by waves wrapped in spring and sky colored twine

change of heart
pink . not an all time favorite . yet this one brings a change of heart
encouraged by the brazen blooming in early spring
warm gentle emerging of each bud arising from royal deep purple leaves
abstract blooms the norm . in all directions
not caring much who might see the swaying in the breeze
coaxing a nod amid shadowy curves against the gray bricks of home
now leaning against the subtle bark of the oak . among the browns and green of life
a bright pink fills my garden and my heart . spring is like that
brick by brick
bright and strong
built one upon the other as time ticks away against the wide sky
built one upon the other as time ticks away against the wide sky
they begin as a backdrop of limestone . a gentle reflection on a calm stretch of water
in a special wide and open place . west of where I am
in a special wide and open place . west of where I am
under branches . windows . clocks and modern art
together yet different. natural and abstract . smooth and rough
three o clock
holding a bouquet of lavender in one hand
a camera in the other . taking in the silence
drenched in northern light on a winter afternoon
that whispers spring promise
a week begins with ...
.
soft shades
of cream & white
a purposeful statement

.
a bit of bright texture
with a shot of vitamin C

.
hand made paper
with vintage lace wing
resting on block of smooth cedar

.
as this week begins and this month is almost at an end
I am grateful for your special comments in this post
I hold them close to my heart
he is doing well . eating . softly wagging his tail
and resting in the grass outside the studio window
this blog space will be quiet for a time . I will at the wooden table
simply creating for my shop . listening to the birds in the bare branches
embracing the bright blue winter sky and crisp air . thinking of you with a smile
.
.
his nest

as Sam settles into the last seasons of life . the aged dog draws me into the yard
winter grass feels like a soft nest to him while we sit each day . gathering four o clock light
yucca pods in our yard confirm what I already feel and hold close to my heart
that simple beauty is found in a spent shell . open and curved . reaching towards blue
among natures palette in shades from sepia to gray . smooth and texture
there is understanding in a patch of january garden between a dog and me
me & a tree
