not quite

in the south we are deep in between two seasons
the feel of summers final end and falls delicate arrival mingle together

I have discovered this time in my creative life as well
hardly an artist . far from a real writer . always an almost photographer
yet I will continue to bloom and turn color even during this season of not quite

I agree with those here before me, you are an artist, a writer, a photographer.
Always bringing beauty to share with the world.

I'm familiar with the subtlety of these southern seasons, too. They are imbued with a delicate beauty and artistry, as is your work.

it is indeed the season of not quite, we are almost, almost, almost . . .

you, however, are there. you will continue to grow & bloom and shed leaves when the time is right and make way for new foliage.

these images are perfect. my blue flowers are still blooming while the leaves on the trees are beginning to turn; some crepe myrtles have already begun to settle in for the cold, some are still flowered all up. almost . . .

That feeling of being on the verge of something may be one of the most exhilarating feelings of all! Think of being on the top of a roller coaster...think of how we felt when we just graduated. May you always feel in the verge of something special elk!

Keeping going, keep blooming, Elk! I believe you are an artist in so many ways already. I can relate to your feeling though--some weeks I feel the same--almost there, but not quite, still striving. But...We are what we seek. :o) Happy weekend ((HUGS))

Cindy said...

Elk I know you are all those things, and they are all beautiful to me.

i have been feeling "not quite" either, but I think you are all these things completely - you are unique in your vision and expression and that is what makes an artist, writer and photographer. it is always a delight to see what you have to say and show.

I agree with the other voices here...you are much more than REAL in all these roles!

Your comment over at Emily's made me sigh. Thank you for sharing about your mamma love there. You are a special lady, you know?

We are so lucky to be able to share your words and images and art - nothing 'nearly' about it.
And I loved the blue denim hearts in your last post.

Oh dear, I know how you feel but I disagree - you are all of these things!!! Just look at all you do! It's beautiful.

oh these images beautifully describe the space in between summer and winter, here in the South. You make it beautiful, even though it can be confusing to our system!
