one . day . simply

torn papers . frayed fabric . cast aside pieces . call to me
inspiration takes form on 3 inch by 3 inch paper

1day2.jpg

a snip of an ivory doily found languishing upon a thrift store shelf
becomes a part of this piece yet any medium works together
photos . paint . magazines . wood . wire . nature . words

1day3.jpg

3 x 3 collage can be a gentle escape for a busy life . it takes little time with no real rules
yet is small enough not to overwhelm you or your space

1day6.jpg

I encourage you to try this soon . maybe even today
work with what you have . in your own style
snap a photo and post a link at the truly exciting

Inspiration Studio

where we can gather to share and inspire
and today may it be one square at a time

I love this, Elk... Sometimes the best things are created on the fly, sometimes the biggest art is small. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

I stopped by the Inspiration Studio as you suggested...what a nice venue for sharing the work of your hands! Wish I knew how to do a link to share...it becomes more of a necessity these days.

Ohhhh, love this! I want to go crochet a doily, just to chop it up into beautiful pieces to merge with something else!

you inspired me this weekend. i thought about how you take what you have and create something so beautiful and unique. i gathered scraps from my metal class and worked this weekend creating some rings. it was fun.

Small, yet strong...I'm thinking of this as I'm looking at your collage. And happy belated birthday - I hope it was filled with many memorable moments.

That's really pretty, Mom. I like the connection between what you write about, not getting overwhelmed by too much, and what the paper pieces say, "one day is simply not enough". That definitely speaks to me and my life.

I love you and your creations.

I like this idea. It looks just small (or large) enough.
