in absence

grateful in green

my mother saw life creatively ... especially through the tip of a watercolor brush
these thoughts return as I photographed the simple budding branch below
instantly reminded of the feeling in this unframed painting of hers

even in absence learning continues ... a gentle lesson to hold close in love

Your mother had to be a beautiful woman-- her daughter sure is! I'm sure she was so proud of her girl!

Powerful...moving. Love how we find our voices emerging from those of those who came before us. A lovely tribute to both you and your artist mom!!!

So beautiful ELK! Creativity is a wonderful gift and one that your mother has obviously shared with you. And I love the idea that these loving lessons continue... I hear my grandmother's wise, gentle voice ring in my head almost every day still with some comfort or lesson for me. It's a blessing.

Art is the most powerful element in our lives that creates balance, nonviolence, inspiration and love. The sharing of these gifts exemplifies all of these traits. Thanks for sharing Elk.

The marriage of the two images is lovely. The painting is beautiful and I recognise the plant from one of your most delicate B&Ws. A pleasure to visit this day.

So creative and meaningful at the same time. The Lord has gifted you as He gifted your mother. You are a reflection of her.
