found along a dusty texas farm road

 he picked out a bucket of sweet summer fruit

 while the simple vines climbing the fences beckoned to me

 light through each leaf  in curve and vein
strength in the curls reaching . holding
a simple stop on the road of life

hose in one hand . cup of coffee in the other

 just moments of stillness before the Texas sun fully rises 

flowers and leaves call for cool drops 

as morning stretches to afternoon
