ode to a peach

you may know putting away

groceries is not my favorite task

often I attempt to make it more enjoyable

in the sun ~ it made me smile . with the leaf still attached

in the shadow ~ of a smooth table by a window overlooking a wild garden

3

in the water ~ a cool stream washing it clean . drenching me as well

2

in the towel ~ soft and frayed soaking up droplets of water . ready to eat

5

in the creamy dish ~ juicy and meant to savor . while the rest of the groceries call

7

shades of green

at the sink I stand . pear and avocado ripen in the window

a bit of my feelings perch on the same sill . intertwined as they often are

moments of happiness and contentment will find you as the day stretches ahead

as well as fleeting disappointments and perhaps a note of sadness

often distinct feelings will remain side by side . in aroma and curves . in shadow and sunshine

ECO ELK

Wayfaring Wanderer
is featuring an Eco-Friendly giveaway
on her most beautiful blog full of imagery
and verse.
She poses these two questions:
"What 5 ways are you Eco-Friendly?"
"Where can you improve?"

the Red or Gray list looks like this :

purchasing food in it most natural form
doing away with lots of packaging.

oranges apples lemons oh my!

"re use" instead of throw away

back porch

turn off lights inside and out

light

compost in the backyard

no dry cleaning here ~ all natural fabrics

ironing

five ways to improve:

drive a more efficient car (are you listening Santa?)
remember to bring reusable grocery bags when shopping ( I have them just forget them!)
adjust thermostat by 2-3 degrees year around (summer is hardest)
mow lawn either manually (or how about less often)
love my showers ... BUT install low flow shower head to use less water

if we all do just a little the word will bloom!

I like the way it looks ...do you?

the grape vine wreath looks bare ....
I prefer the look of the wood and wire..do you?
sometimes a bird nests there
in the spring.

gratitude
GRATITUDE can come each day in a very common form if we remain aware. I love fruit and am grateful for the way it fills my senses!

Simple, I know...how about you? what are grateful for today?
