the field

teacher soon waves goodbye to a year . hello to june
life's song punctuated by beginning and end

as I happen upon this bloom of cream
among the vast motion of wildflower and weed

a nod to the thorns along with softness
the contrasts of shapes and hue
hidden among the growth surrounding it
while also capturing the sun rays
to fully bloom

"a nod to the thorns along with softness"

yes, we are given beauty to soften the thorn's sharp sting...

isn't that the way it has – in severity is great beauty. And those are the little kind of prickles that prick your fingers in bunches right? ouch! That poetry – graceful. The pictures – beautiful. Thank you. God bless and keep you and all of yours.

Elk, I enjoy seeing the beauty in your part of the country! So different than my backyard :) I hope that you have a wonderful summer! My sister is a teacher also and I know how relieved she is this time of year - ready to kick back and relax.

I love this.
And your photos!
And the gentleness that flows
in this place
on currents of sweet,
nourishing
grace.
Oh happy June to you:)

Happy summer days, dear Elk... enjoy your break! Lovely to be back and catching up with you here after our travels. I think we'll need the weekend to get over the jet lag and get back on track. ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

Hello, my friend. I haven't been around the blog block in ages what with the end of the school year craziness. I wanted to stop by and tell you how much I've missed you and this inspiring place you have created here. It's good to be back.
