for her everywhere

one year ago one of my best friends
was in the depths of chemotherapy treating breast cancer
I took a piece of tissue paper & fashioned it into a ribbon
for the month of October snapped daily photos of it
in unusual spots around my home and garden
then posted them in my sidebar each day
pink in blue

nothing monumental or earth shattering, even a little strange I suppose
but the moments spent taking varied photos I felt involved visually
it was my small way to honor her strength and courage
to meditate on Julie and so many others

afternoon color

365 days later
Julie is doing well
I look forward to sharing
a few of last year's photos along
with friends and our hostess Christina

It's amazing how meditative photography can be. And I don't know why it is important to hold people consciously in our thoughts like this from time to time - but it is.

Very glad your fried Julie is doing well.

Yes, yes to this. You are a wonderful friend. She is lucky to have you in her life. And so much yes, yes for her for doing well! Another yes! Good news to start the day. Thank you both.

for the love of our friends, and the love of our cameras~~both OFTEN rescue me. i was just saying that the camera pulled me up and out during the last week, changing introspection into a deeper, fuller breath of life. I so appreciate the ritual honoring and supporting your dear friend.

How unique.
Tissue paper makes me think of gifts. joy. hope.
it is delicate and can be transformed with water or glue. It is the strength of our wishes.
Glad that your friend is well.
You gift in so many ways Elk.
