a few minutes time

trumpet vine

and another

a few weeks ago while making dinner I looked out the window and saw her
photographing trumpet vine blooms in the sunshine
I reached for my camera and took these shots
while trying to be quick and quiet
probably through misty eyes truth be known
my camera focused on an old tree root hanging on the garden wall
...
with her images of orange and mine of blur
an impromptu photo project bloomed on that afternoon
in the hearts and mind of a mother and a daughter

taking a shot

Love your photos, elk.
The plant you asked about...it is a succulent called “Kalanchoe digremontiana,” sometimes called “Maternity Plant,” “Pregnant Plant” or “Mother of Thousands.” When it blooms it makes a very tall stem of pretty pink flowers

Hi, elk...these shots are fantastic... That orange trumpet vine in the light gives a great fiery glow...like a little soul fire. :o) Happy Day!

A good symbiosis of text and pictures.

I love these shots ELK, wonderful 'accident' that your daughter is not in focus. Beautiful sentiments reflect the blessed relationship you two have.

Love your choice of DoF for the images of your daughter; provides a "misty," emotional view of the story.

I love it when mothers/children share interests and hobbies.

Wow. This is really wonderful. I love shots like this, something going on in the background, a story being told. Very, very nice!

I know the misty eyes syndrome .... the camera here is somehow able to translate that very well :)

And now catching up on your photos. So much eye candy in one place! So many lovelies. Love it when ordinary objects are captured so creatively.

the blurry adds an element of mystery and prompts you to wonder a little bit about what she was thinking and focusing on.

I love the photo of the flowers - they look transparent with the sun shining from behind.

That is so sweet! I love the way photography has a way of allowing people to connect artistically. What a more precious connection than that of a mother and child. :O) Look forward to seeing more!!

I love the relationship I can see that you have with your daughter. I look forward to enjoying my young adult daughter as much as you do. No rush though. Really, it goes too fast as it is.

i love the blurred ones! i've noticed this recently, and am not so quick to throw out the ones where my camera focus' (they have minds of their own, sometimes) on something I don't see... nice job.:)
