Sam is gorgeous! We are going on 3 years without a dog. Somedays I still walk in the house expecting him to greet me.

Sam is one lucky dog, but then again, you are lucky to have him in your life!

Oh, typing through tears...
I agree with Liss. I will never understand how people can be cruel to animals.
Sam is such a sweetie. He was meant to be a member of your family.

Beautiful little sides of Sam, both of you blessed all around.

I don't regret having two now, more work, but what isn't? And how many "things" give as much joy and love back as they do?

Awwww, Sam is such a cutie!!

All dogs are great, but rescue dogs are the best. I think they just know how they lucky they are to have found new loving homes.

Thanks for coming up with the idea for the Pet Parade. I'm all signed up and good to go :-) And now I'm off to check out all the other participants....

Good ole Sam, what a wonderful dog - how lucky you are to have each other.

No way. I didn't know that about Sam. I know I will never get a puppy, Chester was ten months old when I got him. Old enough to know a little better ....
Sam is the BEST!

Sam's humans are some lucky folks!! And, he came along when you needed him most. Isn't that always how is seems to work out? I've yet to have a pet that hasn't given me love, taught me some lessons, and healed a little of my heart...

Puna said...

So glad that you too rescued an animal.

Hi Elk, thank you for poping by. What a lovely fellow Sam is. I just can't understand how anyone can reject any dog. Makes my heart sting. Positive vibes to you all from Sussex.

Sam is beautiful. Sometimes they rescue us, too, don't they?

You definitely have this pregnant girl crying with this post. Sam is GORGEOUS! What a blessing pets are in our lives. I've always said that the only thing bad about having pets is having to lose them someday. You gave him a wonderful forever home!

Elizabeth Halt said...

You are both lucky. While you can't help but wish he didn't have to suffer the fear and rejection part of his life, in the end, he wound up with your family! He is a beautiful dog. I'd love to hug him. :)

I love Goldens and have had two but now we have a mixed breed rescue dog...looks like a fox and hates to have her picture taken!...Wonderful pics!

Karen Salva said...

My husband's family raised Goldens, now we spend our lives with German Shepherds...all rescues looking for their forever homes. I did not get to the pet parade but it is a pet parade everyday here! The band, the clowns, the noise, the happiness...even a few tricks!

Give that Sam dog a pat from me, I just want to pet him right through the computer!

Sam looks like a wonderful dog Elk. Your pictures and words about him are wonderful. He's lucky to be in such a special family who loves him.
