this dogwood tree in the front yard is on a journey of blooms
sit with me this week as I share them with joy!

With grace and wonder
the blossoms open
just a bit further
each day

metal and glass

my mother
in her later years
was a bonsai gardener

theses were the tools
used to create art in the soil
now like much of her art
they are framed
as honored pieces in my home

as I placed

to photograph
for Monday Memories
the oak reflected
on the glass
filled
the
lens
&
my
heart

to gaze upward with the buds



to rest among the branches



to lean against the strong bricks

I feel content sitting here in the warmth of the sun



the chain represents our lives apart... yet together as a family



although the columns are peeling and rough they are still strong



the motion of life can be felt in the swaying of a porch swing



the soft shadows play on the side of the B & B
where we stay each time we visit our daughter in college
