sisters in sepia

we raise them to leave the nest . stand on their own

yet when they do . in the stillness they are missed

this summer . these sisters that are friends . have been together

exploring ... working ... playing ... living ... laughing ... flying

I smile from faraway . from the empty nest

This post really hit me...We will be bringing our 3 youngest to Texas to live and start a new chapter in each of their lives...They have spent the past couple of weeks with us and I know I'm going to have a hard time seeing them go.

what beautiful daughters you have! This post had a bit of extra poignancy for me with my own little bird just beginning her life. Seems strange at the moment to think that one day she might also be travelling along her own path
