Elk, You and I are on the same wavelength of thought, photo-wise!!! I just posted a photo of the moon through the trees taken last night. Our shots are very similar! I used a tripod, but my focus is on the trees. You'll have to hop over and check it out :)

That moon was some seductress...I took photos of her this morning too! I'll be posting some of mine tomorrow, but they are not nearly so lovely. They call it the "super moon", you know. :)
