still life

blogblog

8:30 . morning sun dappled across the old wooden shelf
a still second as I ready myself for my day that is anything but still
as a music & movement teacher for young children I smile at two necessities

a favorite music box that transforms each young face as a soft melody fills the space
the garnet colored pear waits to be enjoyed by me with a cup of tea mid morning
fruit . sunlight . quiet . music . movement . just another work day begins

My mother made me grow to love music boxes--and... I soooo want a bite of that pear. I'm not sure if it is the subjects or the light I love so much in these photos. Both are perfect!

I can sense the children's wonder at the music box but my own wonder is at the pear, I've never seen one that colour.

the light across the pear is beautiful - so soft and the shadows really play off the reds in the pear.

The color of that music box is divine. I would be happy to sit in front of it even without music.

Music boxes are so magical .... I am sure that many an inventor has been born out of the child who stops to examine just exactly how they do what they do. Music out of gears and wheels.

I've never thought of you as amateur, you know, not in the two years or so since I found you through Shutter Sisters. This is simply lovely. Thank you for sharing at HCF.
