guarded

as I round the corner
into the lot
this tree
appears
a
silent
prayer
whispered
for her

powerful. as solid as the tree's bark so is the prayer of a faithful woman.

Very interesting shot! I wonder about the story that makes this tree remind you of your daughter.

everything is wonderful here!

photo of the tree is one on the high school campus where my 16 year old is a junior...we pass it each day as we drive to school ~ I tend to just say a small "hope she has a great day" prayer to myself and snapped a photo of it one day ~ it is unusual and pretty in its own way...

seeing fences and chains always makes me a bit sad for what's on the other side... the B&W just adds to the dramah!

very nice ;-)

Our daughters never ever leave our minds, do they? I remember being astounded in the first year of Sloane's life that she never left my thoughts. It was as though I were still pregnant because I always carry her with me. In my heart and mind now instead of my body. There is no joy like a child.

I like the fence, it gives a feeling of the tree being proctected and safe.

I love the familiarity of this tree for me, and yet it's not boring or background the way that you photograph it.
