twelve on thursday

to help by using your hands . embracing natural elements . relishing strength in a group

see art and craft pieces at Crafting for Courage in support of the children

simple bird . simple word a day early

this week I believe in a bit of black white and red

on an everyday table :: in a spring garden unexpected :: as paper is folded

I believe in sharing always . the simple stone and simple bird above will be given away

leave a comment to enter and I will draw one name for each next week

a preview

fit in the palm of the hand .. in the small corner of a desk .. in a giving heart
vintage paper with words of thanks ..wrapped around curves of wave polished stones

four newly created "Simple Stones" will be listed in my shop thursday . 3.24
as part of the Crafting for Courage four day online sale to help Japanese relief efforts
All proceeds from the sale will benefit
Save the Children's Japan Earthquake Tsunami Relief

There will also be a "Crafting for Courage" blog
featuring a number of artists
donating to this cause

its a comfort

six o clock am .. standing on the porch .. with the dog .. in the shadow

constant moon .. as the wind stirs the clouds .. tree branches quiver

little coffee .. no tripod .. no expectations .. just grateful .. for the moment

eleven

we need it . like a well worn pair of jeans . creamy thread . stone wing .

caring from the shore :: no matter the season

from the painted page and cup

remain gentle always

metal clouds & light

look up . as moisture laden wind whisper among silver metal

look up . as curves of iron and clouds remain wound together

look up . recalling deep notes that echo around glass and stone

a thankful heart among the elements each moment

I raise my eyes this day amid imperfect prose

Q & A

where does a broken kitchen chair belong ?

nestled in year round ivy and berries outside my window

what is a sure sign of spring in the wild yard?

tender growth cling to oaks reaching for light and warmth

this day . may you find space to nestle if broken . a place to cling if reaching

ten

week ten of fifty two ... a moment of playful

imperfect paper heart . a spiral twig . string and textures .

in the shadows of each spoke .

looking at the unexpected . between years of friendship

palm of my hand

a pause mid stride to gasp at this stone resting upon the ground
now happily dropped into the depths of my denim pocket

soft curves . subtle colors create . balance . shadow . support . light . smooth

words on a page . mingle paper and stone . so we try . held in the palm of the hand

lining up stones . imperfect prose this day . held and loved

magic words

while not monumental these make me smile ...

"THANK YOU"

a very special painting from a gifted artist

"OPEN THE SUN ROOF"

driving downtown as the sun reflects turquoise

"HAPPY CHILDREN"

my oldest is in her element as an environmental teacher

"OUR TREE IS BLOOMING"

means spring is appearing in my back yard amid the branches

what everyday words are magic to you...

nine

small collage created in 2009 . discovered in an envelope . recreated into curved words

a vintage doily wing . french and "a warm day" with twig . always a quirky garden

she is planning in earnest amid the hope for spring . a market bouquet transforms canvas

while around town blooms remain breathtaking . so glad you are here this day
